What can an energy audit determine?
During the assessment, the Building Performance Institute (BPI) accredited auditor or a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR (HPES) HVAC contractor will evaluate your heating and cooling equipment, insulation levels and air-sealing opportunities by performing a visual inspection and combustion appliance testing. The contractor tests components of your home including your heating system, they do a visual inspection of the insulation levels, air leakage, windows and doors and they explain to you what improvements can be made.
